Regional Resilience Hubs Kickoff Workshop Recap

23 April 2025

On April 16, 2025, PlanRVA hosted a full-day kickoff workshop to launch the Regional Resilience Hubs Planning Process. The event brought together over 40 representatives from local governments and partner agencies across the Richmond Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), including emergency management, social services, planning, and sustainability professionals.

Attendees participated in collaborative breakout sessions to explore how Resilience Hubs could serve their communities, particularly during disasters or service disruptions. Discussions centered around the types of emergencies most likely to impact our region, community needs and service gaps, and local facilities or partners that might align with the hub model.

The workshop marked the beginning of Phase 2 of the planning process, which will include in-depth locality engagement, stakeholder input, and development of a regional framework to support long-term implementation. Thank you to all who attended and contributed your insight—we’re excited to keep the momentum going!
